The FBI’s Crime Statistics are divided into Violent Crimes and Property Crimes. There are four measures of Violent Crime: Murder, Forcible Rape, Aggravated Assault, and Robbery. There are three measures of Property Crime: Burglary, Larceny-Theft, and Motor Vehicle Theft.
Data for larger municipalities covers 1985 – 2012. The rest of the municipalities have data for 1997 – 2012.
The data was obtained from the Mass DOR Division of Local Services Municipal Debt Analysis Worksheets. Data includes such things as Debt as a % of Budget, Debt Service as a % of Budget, and types & amounts of debt. Data covers 1991 – 2011.
Public education in the Commonwealth is organized by school district. Students from a city or town may attend a school managed by a local or regional school district. Accordingly, most of the publicly available financial and performance data collected by the Mass Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is reported on a district or school basis.
Data includes Per Capita Education Spending, Per Pupil Education Spending, and % of Population In School.
